Lisas Midwifery is run by me, Lisa Gårdlund. I am a fully qualified midwife with 6 years working experience primarily at the delivery and maternity department in Ystad.

The women and men that I have helped in my profession together with the experience of having 4 children myself have provided me with a lot of first hand insight of childbirth and parenthood.

I am full of enthusiasm for my profession and would like to share my knowledge and experience with others because i firmly believe that knowledge and preparation are vital for a successful childbirth.

About the course – course content

The course offers all you need to know in preparation for childbirth.

Some of the topics covered are:

  • The latter weeks of pregnancy. How do i feel? And why?
  • Psychological and physiological preparation for childbirth.
  • Relaxation.
  • Breathing exercices.
  • Awarness of what is happening to me when giving birth.
  • Pain relief methods.
  • How those around can help me when I am in labour.
  • How to know when time has come to give birth.
  • What should I take with me to the hospital?
  • Cesarean section.
  • Coplications.
  • The first few days after giving birth.
  • Being a parent.
  • Breast feeding.
  • Bottle feeding.
  • How to maintain a good relationship with your partner.

The group itself can determine what points are to be discussed.

Course fees

The course costs 1800 SEK/couple or 1200 SEK/person.

One to one courses costs 3000SEK

Place

At the library in Veberöd.

Veberöd is located 35 km from Malmö and 30 km from Lund. Buses from/to Malmö and Lund run frequently and stop outside the library. There is also free parking near the library.

I can also make home calls for private courses.

Time

The course is held on the weekends and in the evenings. Call or e-mail me for further information.

Usually the course is held once a week for 3 weeks.

The last class is held when the youngest baby in the group is 4-6 weeks old.

As mentioned before, I can also offer more frequent classes in case you are due soon.
